Patria, DSL, and FFG Announce Official Signing of CAVS Agreement
Joint Vehicle Programme to Replace German Transport Fleets
Patria, DSL, and FFG have officially signed the technical arrangement for the Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) programme on April 17, 2023. The CAVS is a joint programme initially established by Finland and Latvia, with subsequent additions of Sweden and Germany.
The CSV will replace the aging TPz Fuchs and M113 vehicles within the Bundeswehr. The Finnish land systems specialist Patria, alongside German defence suppliers DSL (a KNDS subsidiary) and FFG, will collaborate on the project.
In June 2022, the German Ministry of Defence expressed its intent to join the CAVS programme. This development solidifies Germany's commitment to the initiative.
The CAVS programme aims to provide a modern and interoperable combat support vehicle for participating nations. It represents a significant investment in the modernisation and enhancement of the Bundeswehr's capabilities.
