Italian Teen Cobolli On The Charge

Rising star Flavio Cobolli is leading the charge for a new generation of Italian tennis players.

The 21-year-old is one of an impressive six Italians age 23 and under ranked inside the Top 100.

Cobolli, who has a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 57, is coming off a breakout season in which he debuted in the Top 100 of the Pepperstone ATP Rankings and won his first ATP Challenger Tour title. He is currently ranked No. 60 in the world and is looking to build on his success in Barcelona this week.

Cobolli is part of a new wave of Italian tennis players who are making a name for themselves on the ATP Tour. Other young Italians to watch include Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti, and Lorenzo Sonego.

Cobolli will face a tough test in his first match in Barcelona, as he is scheduled to play Rafael Nadal. Nadal is a 21-time Grand Slam champion and is one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. But Cobolli is confident that he can compete with the Spaniard.

"I know it's going to be a tough match, but I'm excited to play against Rafa," Cobolli said. "He's one of the best players in the world, so it's going to be a great challenge for me. I'm going to go out there and give it my best shot."

Cobolli is a rising star of Italian tennis, and he is one to watch in the years to come.
