Labour's 2024 Election Manifesto: Five National Missions
The Labour Party has launched its 2024 election manifesto, setting out its plans for government should it win the next election. The document, entitled "Power and Partnership: Labour's Plan to Power Up Britain", is fully costed and funded, and is said to be based on a "rock of fiscal responsibility".
At the heart of the manifesto are five national missions: to secure a green future; to build a fairer, more prosperous economy; to reform the UK's public services; to strengthen democracy and rebuild trust in politics; and to make Britain a global leader again. The manifesto also includes a number of specific policies, such as plans to increase investment in renewable energy, raise the minimum wage, and build more affordable homes.
Labour leader Keir Starmer said the manifesto was a "blueprint for a better future" for the UK. He said: "This is the most comprehensive policy programme that Labour has ever produced. It is a plan that is fully costed, fully funded, and based on a rock of fiscal responsibility.
"At the heart of our plan are five national missions. These missions will guide everything we do in government. They will ensure that we build a fairer, more prosperous, and more sustainable future for our country."
